Getting Started
What ResellFinder will not do
ResellFinder will not authenticate luxury goods, show sold comps, write marketplace listings, or invent a price when research fails. Use this page to see what a result is allowed to claim.
ResellFinder is a sourcing check you use before you spend money. You photograph an item, confirm what you see, and get a cautious resale range plus a maximum buy price. Several jobs that sound similar are outside the app on purpose. When a result is thin, the screen should say so.
What it does
- Gives you a visual resale range and a maximum buy price while you are still in the aisle.
- Lets you set the profit, fee, shipping, and prep numbers that feed that ceiling. See How the maximum buy price is calculated.
- Holds Rapid-scan rows in Picks, then keeps saved finds in Haul Lockers on Picker and above, with sell-through and payback.
- Stores item photos and research on your account. Photos stay private. New cloud photos are kept for up to 90 days.
It will not authenticate an item
ResellFinder will not tell you that a luxury brand, designer piece, high-end sneaker, serial number, sports card, or other good is real, fake, or professionally graded.
- A brand or model on the result is only as good as the photo and the title you typed. The research prompt forbids inventing a verified brand, model, or serial.
- Suggested tags on a private photo are visual labels. They are not a certificate.
- Sports card lookup and SportsCardsPro values are not in the current iPhone app. Use Scan item or Rapid scan for other finds. Do not expect a grade, a slab certification, or a “real vs replica” answer.
If you need authentication, use the brand’s own service or a qualified authenticator. Do not treat a High confidence label as that check. Confidence means the visual ID was clearer, not that the item is genuine.
It will not show sold comps
eBay results are asking prices on live listings for the same or similar items.
ResellFinder will not:
- Show completed or sold prices
- Promise that a listing is your exact item
- Move the low / likely / high range up or down because you filtered those cards
- Treat the asking-price median as a sale
The median can make the buy ceiling more conservative when it is lower than the visual range. That is a cap on what to pay, not a sold-comp history. Read Understanding ResellFinder estimates.
It will not write your marketplace listing
The current app does not generate an eBay, Poshmark, or other listing for you to post. It does not write a title, description, or asking price meant to be copied into a marketplace.
You still write the listing yourself, from the item in your hands and from prices you are willing to stand behind.
It will not invent a price
If identification fails, the service is unavailable, or the model cannot return a range, you get a plain error and Try again.
You should not see a confident dollar amount on that failure. Run the check again with a clearer photo or a tighter title. A second attempt spends another AI scan when research actually runs.

It will not publish your photos
Item photos saved to your account are private. They are not a public listing and they are not posted to eBay. An eBay search sends text, not the photograph.
- New cloud photos are kept for up to 90 days, then removed, even if the find remains in the locker.
- Deleting the find or the account removes those photos sooner.
- Viewing uses short-lived links.
- The app does not offer a Settings button that downloads your whole account. For a copy of account-backed data, email privacy@resellfinder.app.
Local photos can remain on the iPhone with the find. Cloud research, estimates, decisions, and sale outcomes stay until you delete the find or the account.
It will not save cloud history before you ask
The camera works signed out. Analysis does not. A find is not in your cloud history until you are signed in and you save it. An unsaved Rapid-scan row sits in Picks. A save that happens while signed out can remain on the device until you sign in.
It will not cancel Apple billing for you
Settings → Account & data can permanently delete the ResellFinder account and the cloud research and private photos on it. That deletion does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel in Plans → Manage subscription or in Apple’s subscriptions so you are not billed again.
If something goes wrong
The app showed a brand I do not trust
Correct the title and research again, or ignore the brand line. Buy from the marks on the item, not from the estimate.
I need sold prices or a listing
Use the likely range only as a cautious planning number. Check completed sales in the marketplace yourself, and write the listing there.
Research failed and I refreshed hoping for a number
There is nothing to refresh into existence. Improve the photo or the title, then tap Try again. If it keeps failing on a clear, signed-in check, email support@resellfinder.app with the on-screen error. Do not send the photo of someone else’s personal information.
