Managing Hauls & Sales

Haul Lockers, sales, and payback

Updated October 28, 2026

Save purchases into a named locker, log what you paid and what you sold for, and read sell-through, net proceeds, and whether the haul has paid for itself.

Haul is where kept finds live after a scan. It is included with Picker and above. Thrifter can research items, but cannot open Haul or save finds into a locker.

A Haul Locker is one named inventory. New saves go to the locker you have open. Totals on the locker count items you bought, not every photo you scanned.

Open, name, and switch lockers

  1. Open the Haul tab. The header reads Haul Locker.
  2. Tap the folder control (Load locker) to open another locker or start a new empty one. Name it for the stop, such as “Goodwill outlet 10/28” or “Weekend estate sale”.
  3. Tap the save control (Save locker) to rename the locker you have open. Finds stay put. Renaming does not start a second inventory.
  4. Use search to filter the finds in this locker.
  5. Tap Select, choose finds, and move them to another locker. Done leaves selection mode.

Signed out, you only have a local bag of finds on this iPhone. Sign in to keep lockers on your account.

Only an empty locker can be deleted. Finds stay in the locker they are already in.

Record a purchase

The header cannot score money until a purchase price exists. Until then it reads Record what you paid to score this haul.

  1. Save the find from the estimate (Save this find) or from a Picks row.
  2. Open the find.
  3. Tap Record what you paid and enter the cost on the tag, such as $4.50. If you already entered it, the control reads Change what you paid.

Bought, listed, and sold items all count as purchases in the locker totals. A find you saved but did not mark as bought stays out of investment and sell-through.

Record the sale

When the item sells, open the find and tap Enter actual sale. The screen title is Record the outcome.

Enter:

Calculated net proceeds updates as you type:

Net proceeds = sold for − platform fees − shipping you paid − preparation costs

Tap Save actual sale. The find stores the gross price, the net, the channel, and the date.

Profit on a sold find is net proceeds minus what you paid. Until you record a sale, the find still shows the estimate.

How the locker scores payback

The evaluation card uses items in the open locker that you bought.

FigureMeaning
Sell-throughSold count ÷ bought count. Shown as sold of bought · percent, plus a bar
InvestmentSum of what you paid for bought items, sold or not
RevenueSum of gross sale prices
ProfitCash back from sales minus the cost of the items that sold. Unsold cost is not in this profit number
ROIThat profit divided by the cost of the sold items
PaybackCash back from sales minus every purchase price, including items still unsold

Payback answers a different question than profit. Profit looks at items that have sold. Payback asks whether sale money has covered the whole pile you bought.

Example: you bought two items at $10 each ($20 investment). One sold for $40 with $6 fees, $7 shipping, and $2 prep. Net proceeds are $40 − $6 − $7 − $2 = $25. Profit on that sale is $25 − $10 = $15. Payback is $25 − $20 = +$5, so the haul has paid for itself even though one item is still unsold.

Wrap up

Wrap up (accessibility label Wrap up today) opens a share card titled Today’s haul for the locker you have open. The sell-through, payback, profit, and ROI on the card match the locker header: every bought item in that locker, not only finds saved today.

The card shows:

Tap SHARE HAUL SCORECARD. The iPhone share sheet opens so you can send the image to Photos, Messages, or another app. Keep hunting closes the card without sharing. The card is a picture of this locker’s bought-item score, not a list of top finds, and not the Picks session.

If something goes wrong

Haul is missing or save says Save finds with Picker

You are on Thrifter, or the plan has not refreshed. Open Plans, confirm Picker or above, and use Restore purchases if you already subscribed on this Apple ID.

Sell-through stays 0 of 0

No find is marked bought. Record what you paid on the items you kept.

Profit looks like the estimate, not the sale

Open the find and confirm Enter actual sale was saved. Profit switches to net proceeds minus cost only after that sale exists.

I deleted a find and the photo went with it

That is expected. Deleting a find removes the research record and the private photos saved with it.
